Snop privacy policy
Effective date: 15 July 2026 · Last updated: 15 July 2026
Snop is provided to you by Creative Crow Ltd (UK)
1. TL;DR
Your prompts are yours. We do not read them, sell them, use them to train AI, or sneak them into analytics. They stay on your device and, if you enable iCloud, in your private iCloud database. No one at Creative Crow is passing them around like office gossip – we do not receive them in the first place.
- Your content stays private. Prompt text, titles and projects remain on your device and in your private iCloud database when sync is enabled.
- AI titles happen on-device. Snop uses Apple’s on-device language model rather than sending prompts to an external AI service.
- Analytics is limited and optional. PostHog receives pseudonymous usage events only if you enable analytics, never your prompt text, titles, project names or clipboard contents.
- Payments reveal very little to us. Apple handles payment details and RevenueCat receives only the information needed to manage purchase and subscription status, using a random identifier not tied to a Snop account.
- No advertising business hiding in the bushes. We do not sell personal data, serve advertising or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
The rest of this policy contains the detail – because “we do not do anything weird with your data” is reassuring, but apparently not a complete legal document.
2. Information Snop processes
Content you create
Snop stores the information you choose to enter, including:
- prompt text;
- generated or edited prompt titles;
- project names and the prompts assigned to them;
- dates when prompts and projects were created or updated; and
- whether and when a prompt was copied or marked as used.
This content is stored locally on your device using Apple’s data-storage frameworks. If you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud is available for Snop, it is synchronised through Apple CloudKit to the private database associated with your Apple Account. Apple states that only the user can access their private CloudKit database by default and that its contents are not visible in the developer portal.
Creative Crow does not receive or have routine access to your prompt or project content. Please avoid placing passwords, API keys or other secrets in prompts unless you are comfortable storing them on your device and in your iCloud account.
On-device title generation
On supported Apple devices, Snop may create a short title from your prompt using Apple’s SystemLanguageModel in the Foundation Models framework. The model used by Snop runs on your device. Your prompt is not sent to Creative Crow or to a third-party AI provider for this feature, and we do not use your content to train AI models.
If the model is unavailable, Snop uses the first line of your prompt as its title.
Siri, Shortcuts and dictation
If you create a prompt using Siri, Shortcuts or system dictation, Apple processes the spoken or typed input according to your Apple settings and Apple’s privacy terms. Snop receives the resulting text and stores it in the same way as any other prompt.
Product analytics
We use PostHog to understand how people use Snop and to improve reliability and product decisions. Analytics may include:
- a randomly generated, pseudonymous installation identifier;
- events such as opening the app, creating or copying a prompt, using a feature, or encountering an error;
- app version, operating-system version, device type and language;
- timestamps, session duration and general screen or feature usage; and
- network information such as an IP address, which may reveal an approximate country or region.
We do not send prompt text, prompt titles, project names, clipboard contents, contact details or precise location to PostHog. We do not use PostHog session replay, advertising profiles or cross-app tracking, and we do not identify analytics with your name or email address.
Analytics is off by default and is enabled only if you choose to enable it. You can change your analytics choice at any time in Snop’s settings. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before withdrawal.
Purchases and subscriptions
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Creative Crow does not receive your payment-card details.
We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and manage subscription entitlements. RevenueCat may process:
- an automatically generated anonymous App User ID;
- device type, platform, operating system and app version;
- App Store receipt and transaction information;
- products purchased, subscription status, renewal and expiry dates;
- the time the app last contacted RevenueCat; and
- country inferred from the connection’s IP address. RevenueCat states that it discards the IP address after deriving the country.
We do not send your prompt or project content, name, email address, advertising identifier or contact information to RevenueCat. Apple and RevenueCat each process information under their own terms and privacy documentation.
Support communications
If you contact us, we process the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, attachments and relevant troubleshooting information. Please do not send prompt content unless it is necessary for your support request and you are comfortable sharing it with us.
Clipboard
Snop can copy a prompt to your device’s clipboard when you ask it to. Snop writes the selected prompt to the clipboard but does not read other clipboard contents.
3. Why we process information and our lawful bases
Under UK data-protection law, we rely on the following lawful bases:
- Providing Snop and its features: performance of our contract with you.
- Managing purchases, subscriptions and entitlements: performance of our contract, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in preventing fraud and providing paid features.
- Product analytics: your consent where required. Where local law permits analytics on another basis, our legitimate interest is understanding and improving Snop while collecting as little information as possible.
- Responding to support requests: performance of our contract and our legitimate interests in providing support and resolving problems.
- Security, fraud prevention and legal compliance: our legitimate interests and compliance with legal obligations.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider the limited nature of the information, the privacy-preserving design of Snop and your reasonable expectations. You may object to this processing as described below.
4. Who we share information with
We use the following service providers only where needed to provide Snop:
- Apple – App Store payments, device services and private iCloud/CloudKit synchronisation;
- PostHog, Inc. – pseudonymous product analytics; and
- RevenueCat, Inc. – purchase validation and subscription management.
We may also disclose limited information to professional advisers, regulators, courts or law-enforcement authorities where reasonably necessary and permitted by law, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the business with appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not share personal data for targeted advertising.
5. International transfers
Your private iCloud content is stored and processed by Apple under your Apple Account settings and Apple’s terms.
We use PostHog’s European hosting region for analytics. PostHog and some of its service providers may nevertheless process limited information outside the United Kingdom. RevenueCat stores customer data on Amazon Web Services in the United States.
Where personal data is transferred outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, we use recognised safeguards where required, including adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, participation in the relevant Data Privacy Framework.
You can contact us for more information about the safeguards used for a particular transfer.
6. How long information is kept
- Prompt and project content: kept on your device and in your private iCloud database until you delete it. Deletion synchronises through iCloud, subject to Apple’s normal syncing, recovery and backup processes. Removing the app alone may not delete data stored in iCloud.
- Analytics: identifiable or pseudonymous event-level analytics is kept for no longer than 12 months, after which it is deleted or irreversibly aggregated.
- Purchase and entitlement information: kept while needed to provide and restore your subscription, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and meet legal, tax or accounting obligations. Relevant records may normally be retained for up to six years after our relationship ends.
- Support messages: normally kept for up to 24 months after the request is resolved, unless a longer period is needed for an ongoing dispute or legal obligation.
We may retain anonymous, aggregated statistics that can no longer identify you.
7. Your choices and controls
You can:
- edit or delete prompts and projects within Snop;
- manage Snop’s access to iCloud in your Apple device settings;
- manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store subscription settings;
- enable or disable analytics in Snop’s settings; and
- stop using Snop and remove it from your devices.
Because your prompt and project content is held in your private iCloud database, Creative Crow generally cannot retrieve, export or delete that content for you. You can access it through Snop and manage Snop’s iCloud data through Apple’s settings.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- ask for access to personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- restrict or object to its processing;
- receive personal data you provided in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent; and
- complain to a data-protection authority.
To exercise a right, email support@creativecrow.io. We may need to verify your request. Some rights are subject to legal limitations, and we cannot provide data that we do not possess or cannot access.
Your right to object: You may object at any time to processing based on our legitimate interests by contacting us. We will stop unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue or the processing is needed for legal claims.
If you are in the United Kingdom, you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect the limited information we process. Snop uses Apple’s app sandbox and private CloudKit storage, and our providers use encryption in transit and other security controls.
No system is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your device, Apple Account and device passcode, and for deciding what information to place in your prompts.
10. Children
Snop is a general productivity tool and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly ask children for personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us through analytics, purchases or support, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Snop changes or legal requirements develop. We will update the date at the top and, where a change materially affects your rights or how we use personal data, provide an appropriate notice in the app or through another reasonable channel.
12. Who we are and how to contact us
Snop is provided by Creative Crow Ltd (“Creative Crow”, “we”, “us” or “our”), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15080594. Creative Crow is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy where applicable.
